Hercules
Hercules is 8 weeks old now and has headed to his new home in San Diego, CA!
This big boy has begun his service dog training and will also be competing in conformation!
This snuggle bug has such a steady personality! He also has so many great qualities that are necessary for being a successful service dog. Picking a puppy to be able to be a service dog isn’t something we take lightly here! I personally, as well as my husband and all our children who are old enough, watch the traits the puppies exhibit as they age and we evaluate if they have the qualities necessary for their future work demands and we place them accordingly. Service dogs need to have certain characteristics to be able to assist their owners 24/7 that other dog careers don’t need to have to thrive in their lines of work or for companionship responsibilities. The traits necessary would be too extensive to list here. It’s more than passing a check list it is also an art, you have to have a feel for which puppies will enjoy service work and which ones would excel in other professions.
Hercules is a lovable boy! He has such a good temperament and chill attitude. Hercules loves to play and is a very smart boy. He cuddles in and loves all the attention you could give him… and a good nap! :D
He is playful, gentle, and has great conformation! He’s a funny guy too! Defiantly a “Goofy Newfie” kind of fella but also very regal.
We are very very excited for Hercules to learn, grow, and excel in service work and conformation!
I’m sure this will be one of many more posts to come about how this handsome fella is doing and what titles he is earning!
